Meols vs Fallujah

Meols is a small town outside Liverpool in the UK. 5th November is 'bonfire night' in the UK, when people remember an attempt to burn down Parliament with fireworks. In 2004, it coincided with the long anticipated US/UK invasion of Fallujah in Iraq, which had been under siege. All the residents were told, via flyers, to leave the city as it were to be imminently bombarded.

Featuring footage recorded from live news feeds, and footage shot from the window of a house in Meols. A mini DV tape recorded the bangs and flashes of fireworks in the town, while at the same moment a VHS tape recorded, also live, the bangs and flashes of an invasion.
